independent multilingual writer

AM Hellberg Moberg left rural Sweden in her late teens to try her luck in foreign lands, initially in the Netherlands. After completing her English Diploma in the United Kingdom, a 2-year stint in Mexico followed, before she returned to the UK on a more permanent basis. London has been her home since the mid-1990s, but a career in travel and guidebook writing (published under the name Anna Maria Espsäter) has taken her to many far-flung places over the years, from Tierra del Fuego to Cape of Good Hope and the North Cape.

After visiting nearly 100 countries, AM Hellberg Moberg began branching out into fiction writing and poetry in 2015-16, slowing down her travel ventures in favour of inventing fluffy fictional felines and feisty winter-loving sisters, as featured in two of her most recent books. She also gives talks about her travels and writing in English, Swedish and Spanish, accompanied by her own travel images from all over the world, many of which have been featured in solo photography exhibitions.

When she isn’t writing, she can often be found doing yoga, skiing, ice-skating, spending quality time with cats, trying to pick up tricky languages or cooking something delicious from a far-flung corner of the world.
