I wanted to check in with you all and make sure you’re doing as well as you possibly can in these difficult and troubled times.
Up until a few weeks ago I was fully focused on a year of giving talks at libraries, visiting book festivals and hopefully achieving my 50th birthday goal of getting to 100 countries. These seemed such key priorities, in no way could I envisage none of the above would happen, or even be particularly important, a couple of weeks down the line.
There’s nothing like a worldwide crisis to make you change your perspective!
I know many of my self-employed, creative friends are going through an unusually tough time of uncertainty and worry, in the UK and elsewhere. If you are able to support the creative industries from a distance/for the future, please consider chipping in, in any way you can.
I was intending to offer you a copy or two of my children’s books, if you have kids currently home from school, who need entertaining, but I’m slightly worried I’ll be promising too much – I may not be able to get to a post office e.g.
However, if you would like a copy of either How Pat Got Her Five Cats or Hug-Snow Days, please send me your address, specifying which book you’d like, and I’ll see what I can do.
If at a later date, you’re able to donate something to my Paypal account or do a review of either book, that would be lovely, but there’s no pressure/rush. I think at the moment we’re all just getting used to the new reality and trying to get by.
The talks I was planning to give in London are currently postponed, along with most other plans, but I trust that this crisis will eventually pass even if times are tough right now.
If anyone is in need of a pep talk (assuming I have any pep left) or just a general grumble about the state of the world, feel free to drop me a line on email, Messenger, WhatsApp or LinkedIn.
I’m also happy to chat to fellow creatives about fun post-virus plans – let’s try and come up with something positive out of all this mayhem. Write together online maybe or plot creative collaborations of all kinds. I’m open to ideas!
Hang on in there, look after yourselves and take care.

Dear network, After a rather wet, grey and dull January here in the UK, I’ve decided to go ahead and declare it to be spring right now – hence a spring newsletter. Since my last written instalment, I’ve been moving forward with quite a few plans and innovations. In fact, this is my first attempt… Continue reading
Dear network, Apologies for the silence over these last few months and apologies also for the lack of cheer in this update, despite Christmas approaching. As you may have noticed, there were no details sent out about the promised book launch, nor have I been in touch with news about my upcoming book… This is… Continue reading

Dear friends, It’s been a little while since my last update – I’ve been busy enjoying summer and the fruits of my labour. I’m pleased to say my first work of fiction, How Pat Got Her Five Cats – A Tale For Cat Lovers, is doing quite well and is currently available for sale on… Continue reading
Dear friends, As some of you know, over the last couple of years I have been slowing down my travel writing career somewhat (although I still enjoy a good travel stint, every now and then), and instead branched out into writing fiction and poetry. This shift has been an interesting journey in itself, particularly after… Continue reading
I’m very pleased to announce my first work of fiction, How Pat Got Her Five Cats – A Tale For Cat Lovers, is now available on Amazon in hardback and on Kindle: https://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Pat-Got-Five-Cats/dp/1916082505/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=AM+Hellberg+Moberg&qid=1560170963&s=gateway&sr=8-1 Also, just in time for Midsummer, my second work of fiction, Boldly Into Darkness Go – a collection of short stories, is… Continue reading
I distinctly remember starting the story of How Pat Got Her Five Cats on a plane to Málaga in May 2016, scribbling furiously in my small notebook. I was on my way to Spain with a friend for a short holiday, before packing my bags and leaving my base in the UK to spend time… Continue reading
Although this might sound completely crazy, one of the things I’m getting really excited about now that I’m writing fiction, is that I can invent a completely fictitious bus; a bus that can take any imaginary route, depart at any imaginary time, and needn’t bear any resemblance to real life. I think I will take… Continue reading
