Fiction update Christmas 2019

Dear network,

Apologies for the silence over these last few months and apologies also for the lack of cheer in this update, despite Christmas approaching.

As you may have noticed, there were no details sent out about the promised book launch, nor have I been in touch with news about my upcoming book…
This is due to me spending most of the autumn over in Sweden, initially because of my father’s ailing health and, later, due to his passing away at the end of October.
All autumn, well into December, has mostly been focused on events in Sweden and all the practicalities of the aftermath of death.
It’s only now, back in the UK, that life is taking on some sort of normality again and I’m beginning to refocus on my creative endeavours.

I’m pleased and grateful to find that copies of both my current works of fiction are somehow still selling, despite my complete lack of time and energy to promote them since the summer.
If my sources are correct, How Pat Got Her Five Cats and Boldly Into Darkness Go have now been read in ten countries to date; England, Scotland, Wales (yep, I see them as countries), Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Slovenia, Barbados, Peru and the USA! If you know of anywhere that I’ve missed out, please let me know and I’ll add it to my stats.
The books are still available from Amazon and, as of next year, I hope to make them (and future works) available directly from my website:

My last newsletter contained many plans for the autumn and winter, most of which have now been cancelled or postponed, including my month-long writer’s residency in Latvia. This means that for 2020, I’m looking for good tips for places to spend quality time writing. Not writer’s retreats, as such, just nice areas to check out, close to nature, maybe near the odd bar… Feel free to send me any recommendations you might have.

To end on a positive note, my third work of fiction, a winter fairytale entitled Hug-Snow Days, has just been sent to the printers this week. Even though it won’t be out before Christmas, as intended, it will have a January release date and I will keep you posted on when it’s out.

Finally I wish you all a lovely, relaxing festive season and a wonderful, creative 2020.

All the best,

AM Hellberg Moberg aka Anna Maria

Fiction update summer & autumn 2019

Dear friends, It’s been a little while since my last update – I’ve been busy enjoying summer and the fruits of my labour. I’m pleased to say my first work of fiction, How Pat Got Her Five Cats – A Tale For Cat Lovers, is doing quite well and is currently available for sale on… Continue reading

Fiction update spring 2019

Dear friends, As some of you know, over the last couple of years I have been slowing down my travel writing career somewhat (although I still enjoy a good travel stint, every now and then), and instead branched out into writing fiction and poetry. This shift has been an interesting journey in itself, particularly after… Continue reading

Fiction flowing

I’m very pleased to announce my first work of fiction, How Pat Got Her Five Cats – A Tale For Cat Lovers, is now available on Amazon in hardback and on Kindle: Also, just in time for Midsummer, my second work of fiction, Boldly Into Darkness Go – a collection of short stories, is… Continue reading

“How Pat Got Her Five Cats – A Tale For Cat Lovers” Coming Soon

I distinctly remember starting the story of How Pat Got Her Five Cats on a plane to Málaga in May 2016, scribbling furiously in my small notebook. I was on my way to Spain with a friend for a short holiday, before packing my bags and leaving my base in the UK to spend time… Continue reading

Inventing buses – moving from non-fiction to fiction

Although this might sound completely crazy, one of the things I’m getting really excited about now that I’m writing fiction, is that I can invent a completely fictitious bus; a bus that can take any imaginary route, depart at any imaginary time, and needn’t bear any resemblance to real life. I think I will take… Continue reading

A 3-part winter adventure in snowy Jämtland, Sweden Part 3

A 3-part winter adventure in snowy Jämtland, Sweden Part 3

More snow, please! Thanks! My time in snowy Åre is coming to an end and I’ll soon be off to nearby city Östersund, but first I have one more morning on the slopes with an added bonus activity. Beer-tasting: For my last day on the slopes, the weather has improved, the wind’s died down and… Continue reading

A 3-part winter adventure in snowy Jämtland, Sweden Part 2

Keep bringing on the snow! After a couple of days of fun and varied non-ski adventures, it’s time to pick up my skis in the afternoon. Much to my relief, I’m not hitting the slopes that day, as they close at 3pm when it starts getting dark, but at least now I have my skis… Continue reading
